At long last!

In 1940 Romania joined forces with the Axis powers and invaded the USSR.

However, the poor training and deficient equipment of it's forces took their toll when the soviet forces turned back the tide and invaded Romania, resulting in the loss of considerable territories by this country to Bulgaria and the USSR in the end of the war.

The military coup orchestrated by king Michael of Romania in 23 August 1944, resulting in a change to the Allied camp, was a classic case of "too little, too late" and did not avoid the reckoning.
